lately I finished reading a good book by John Gray, It's about improving the relation-ship between husband and wife. the book's name is Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus . As you can notice from the title, this book treats men and women as different as they are from different planets (Mars and Venus).
John tries in his book to explain the differences between man's and women's behaviors. He focuses on different communication styles and what each one (man or women) expects from the other. Here are some aspects treated by John on his book :

When men are under stress, they generally distract themselves with various activities to relax. That's why you see so many men head for the nearest basketball/football hoop or bury themselves in the paper or TV. But there's another aspect of the way they handle severe stress that can be particularly frustrating to women who don't understand the way they are: a man withdraws into his "cave." They need to be apart from everybody else while they figure out their problems alone. Remember, a man is very self-reliant and competitive, and to ask for help is weakness, so he will first want to solve the problem by himself.

Women handle stress in the exact opposite way, which of course is going to pose major problems until they understand this difference! When women are stressed, they get more involved with other people.they want to talk about what's upsetting them, because they process information and feelings by putting them into words. But merely talking is only half of it; they talk in order to be heard and understood. Having a good listener on the other end is extremely important. No wonder there is such misunderstanding when people are under stress: "Men head for their cave, and women head for the back door!"

The point system : men and women count differently the giving/receiving loves. Form women, they give one point for each act of love, whereas men can give 10,30 or more fore one act ...so sometimes men think they had given a lot, but for women they need more et they think that men have to give more. Man may work hard to surprise his wife by a great gift (holiday in a beaulifull place or a new car :) ).. but for the women, it counts as giving a kiss in the morning or to not forget to get something from the grocery ..it's amazing but it's true.

* ...

The book is really good and I suggest you to read it..but don't take as "Coran", it's just a one way to interpret the relationship between men and women.
